Advanced Trainees in Neurology or Psychiatry wishing to gain experience in a neurobiological approach to the treatment of addiction. Such candidates would also be eligible for 12 months accreditation towards Fellowship of the Chapter of Addiction Medicine, and would be supported in gaining the additional training necessary for the granting of Fellowship.

Cancer Patient Pathway Co-ordinator (2 positions)

Cancer Services is seeking 2 nurses to work in this new exciting and challenging area. The Co-ordinator will be a core member of the multidisciplinary team in several tumour streams and will ensure that the initial management of patients with cancer is efficient and coordinated to maximise outcome. They will develop pathways of care for the initial phases of diagnosis and management decision making for new patients. This is part of a project which will require appropriate evaluation of the benefits for patients from the role.

The Hospital has been very active in developing multidisciplinary care in 10 tumour streams. Five tumour streams (colorectal, CNS, Genito-urinary, Haematology and Upper GI) have been identified as having the highest priority for investigating the benefits of the role of pathway co-ordinator. Each co-ordinator will work in 2 or 3 of these areas.

The position requires sound clinical experience and skills in evaluation to define the benefits of the role. You will need to work as part of a multidisciplinary team. Previous experience with cancer patients will be an advantage.

The positions are 0.6 EFT and are limited to a 12 month appointment. It is hoped that if the demonstration program is successful, then further funding may be available. The level of the appointment is Division 1 RN Grade 4A.
